Haiku is the most
lush of the upcountry villages, with more vegetation, more rain, and a
quiet country atmosphere. Many of the properties are two or more acres
with one or two houses. It's not unusual to find a quaint little cottage
tucked into the edge of a gulch, or a luxurious six acre estate. Being
lower in elevation, Haiku enjoys warmer nights than Makawao or Kula. The
newest claim to fame - "JAWS", perhaps the largest wave ever
ridden!
