Property location:    Located oceanfront in Spreckelsville, Kahakai - Niu Estate is a quick 2 minute drive to Paia, or 10 minutes into Kahului.

Closest Beaches:  Spreckelsville Beach (at the doorstep) is a great windsurfing launch.  Baldwin Beach would be within walking distance (a very long walk for a child). The swimming beaches of Kihei, Wailea and Makena are located on the South Shore, and will be approximately 30 to 45 minutes by car.

Property Description and Amenities:   Kahakai - Niu Estate is a large property fronting directly to the ocean in Spreckelsville.  This property is particulary well suited to guests on a windsurfing vacation.  There are three rental units:

    Nalu Cottage - two bedroom/1 bath beachfront cottage
    Makani Duplex - two bedroom/1 bath oceanview duplex
    Pua Duplex - two bedroom/1 bath oceanview duplex

The Beachfront cottage (Nalu) has two bedrooms, one bath, full kitchen (no D/W), telephone, ceiling fans, and ocean facing lanai.

The large duplex is set just slightly back of the cottage, and has two units - Makani and Pua.  Each of these units has two bedrooms, one bath, full kitchen (no D/W), telephone, ceiling fans.  Each unit has a large lanai facing towards the ocean.

STORAGE UNITS - If you want the best of both worlds, combine a hotel vacation with a private storage/launch site on the North Shore.  Kahakai - Nui Estate offers three storage units, to provide day time sailing access, and night time storage.  Return to your hotel room each night, and leave your gear safely locked up in Spreckelsville.  Guests using the storage units must leave the grounds by 7pm.  NOTE: one vehicle per storage unit.

NOTE:  The Spreckelsville area is subject to airport noise.

Our opinion:   Fabulous choice for a windsurfing holiday!  This is the best launch on the North Shore.  Interiors are comfortable, but have no "special charm".
NOTE:  the beach in this area has become eroded at the front of the property.  Sailors can still launch, but it can be a little difficult getting down onto the beach.
